Mammoth Brewing Faces Growing Pains
Mammoth Brewing Company released this note last night on their Facebook, concerning some minor growing pains they are facing as their demand goes up.
Dear Friends,
As you all know, tomorrow is the first Wednesday of the month, a very special & busy day in the MBC TR… I am sorry to report that, unfortunately this month, we’re very low on beer, and we must deliver to our wholesale customers (the other restaurants & bars of the Eastern Sierra) even over our own Tasting Room. And this means we don’t have many flavors to fill for 1/
I am so sorry. I’ve always said it is very important to me that if we’re going to offer a promotion like a 1/2 priced growler fill day, then we have to do it with all our beers. However, this has been a very busy winter for us. Our sales are up dramatically just in our local market (we’ve actually pulled back from some markets to take care of our local market only) and we had to shut down the brewery for a week in December to make some structural improvements (no joke – the WC building was falling down around us!). However, we are increasing capacity (we’ve got more tanks on order, that will go in the parking lot of Whiskey Creek), but that can’t happen until May.
Soooooo, I’m making a long story here to say that we will only have the following beers for 1/2price growler fill tomorrow:
1) Real McCoy Amber
2) Double Nut Brown
3) Wild Sierra Mountain Farmhouse Saison (new seasonal – freakin’ awesome if you haven’t tried it yet….)
4) Stump Alley Sour
5) Fire & Eisbock and Barrel-Aged Fire&Eisbock
Sorry, we do NOT have Root Beer, Golden Trout Pilsner, Paranoids Pale Ale, Epic IPA, IPA395, Floating Rock Hefeweizen or the Barrel-Aged Double Nut Brown available for the 1/2price growler program for tomorrow.
Again, I apologize, because I love how our ML locals have embraced the first Wednesday of the month as our true “locals discount”. To make up for it, we’re going to offer TWO HALF-PRICE-GROWLER-FILL-WEDNES
Thanks for understanding that, when faced with allocations, we must take care of our wholesale accounts even over our own tasting room – the business community of the Eastern Sierra (including Reno & Truckee as well as Yosemite) – because that is the right thing to do. But like I said, watch for the tanks going up in May! These tanks will NOT be used for expanding our distribution footprint – – these tanks are just to take care of our existing customers for the summer AND OUR CUSTOMERS WHO COME INTO THE TASTING ROOM. Our growth is a good problem to have, I know, but it is a problem none the less. Believe me, we’re trying to grow as fast as we can!
See you on the slopes and, soon, on the Mtn bike trails!
