Legend Dry Stout & Vienna Lager
Legend Dry Stout
Working class Irishmen gather ’round and listen ’bout the arrival of this years version of Legend Stout! Just in time for your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations plus the two weeks post and prior.
Expect a very deep brown to black color with very deep red highlights. The aroma is of dark malt predominantly…roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, with very little hop character. The Irish yeast strain contributes a slight fruitiness. The flavor starts sharp and assertive with plenty of rich malt, medium hoppiness, and a bit of creaminess due to a small percentage of oats in the grain bill. The body is medium with only slight carbonation. The finish is dry and smooth.
Malts for this beer include Pale, Caramel, Chocolate, and Black Roasted Barley, as well as Flaked Oats.
- Hopped modestly with Tettenanger for balance
- Fermented on an authentic Irish yeast strain
- 5% alcohol by volume
- Pairs well with meats, hearty stews, game, roasted root vegetables
This beer will be available during the month of March on draft and in 22 oz. bottles.
Legend Vienna Lager
The brewers of Legend would like to introduce you to a style of lager beer new to us but not altogether strange to us. Vienna Lager falls somewhere between our standard European “Legend Lager” and our very popular seasonal, “Oktoberfest”. All three styles are brewed on our house lager yeast strain which remains clean from aroma to finish and allows malt and hop flavors to be showcased.
While our Lager is a pretty straight forward, delicate beer, Legend Oktoberfest is a very rich brew bringing plenty of malty sweetness, as well as body and just festiveness in general.
Legend Vienna Lager starts with a toasted malt aroma, low noble hop aroma, and a clean lager character with slight sulfur. The bright copper color is indicitave of the rich malt flavor, a mixture of sweetness and light toasted flavors mixing with caramel and eventually finishing dry and clean without any fruitiness or lingering sweetness. The body is medium with a smooth creaminess.
- Malts used are Vienna, Munich, and Caramel
- Hops are Tettenang and Hallertauer
- This beer is 5.5% alcohol by volume
- Available on draft only. Look for this beer to appear again as time and brewery space allow.
Thanks and enjoy, The Legend Brewers
