Knee Deep Brewing News – Expansion Update, 2014 Outlook + More
Knee Deep Brewing updates us on brewery expansion, tap room news and what we have to look forward to in 2014. Cheers!
Its been a long couple months for the Knee Deep team as we all have been working really hard building out the new brewery in Auburn, CA while maintaining production at our Lincoln, CA location. As of today, we have installed all of the fermenters (4×60 bbl. & 1×90 bbl.), brite tanks (1×60 bbl. & 1x 90 bbl.), main production brew system (4 vessel system), 90 bbl. hot liquor tank, hop dosing tanks, hop back, grain mill, grist tank, CIP system, 1.8 million BTU hour boiler, control systems for brewhouse and cellar, and all electrical. Our new brew system is a 40 bbl. brew system that will allow us to brew 30 barrel high S.G. brews and 40 barrel low S.G. beers. (S.G. = Starting Gravity). We will start brewing on the new system during the second week of December. Did we mention the expansion includes 2000 sqft. for barrel aging.
Tap Room Update:
If you have been following us on Facebook, you would know that we have already opened our tap room during the last week of September. For those that don’t visit our Facebook page like our Hoptologist does, we have great news for you. Our tap room is open 7 days a week. You can now visit Knee Deep and enjoy your favorite Knee Deep beer or perhaps get a sampler of all our beers to enjoy while watching our production team brew some amazing hoppy goodness. Our tap room has no walls and is open to the production floor, so if we’re brewing, bottling, filtering or throwing some bag toss, you will be right in the middle of it. “Please Don’t Feed the Brewers”.

Hey there hop heads and hop heads in training. Its been a exciting time here at Knee Deep, with all the expansion adventures. During this time I have received some new hop varietals that we have never used before, which has had me hard at work formulating new beers while working diligently at getting our new brew house up and running. What you can look forward to during the 2014 brew year at the home of the Hoptologist are beers ranging from the low ABV with excellent hop aroma’s, sweet balanced mild ales, high octane barrel aged brews to Caribbean Rum aged Imperial Tanilla. So many different beers to list, but I think you get the idea. I hope that I get the chance to share a hoppy brew with you at the Knee Deep Brew House & Tap Room. Until then………….
Cheers and hoppy holidays,
The Hoptologist aka Jeremy Warren
