Kern River Brewing Raises Funds for Keepers of the Kern
(Kernville,CA) – You may have guessed that we have a soft spot for the Kern River here at KRBC. In fact, without it, we would just be “Brewing Company”, which wouldn’t be any fun at all (and might face several intellectual property lawsuits). If you have visited here during the Summer, you might have noticed that other people like to visit too; in fact, the upper stretches of the river get tens of thousands of visitors, but many areas don’t have adequate facilities for trash and, um… other stuff.
In jumps Keepers of the Kern; a group that, in conjunction with the US Forest Service, the Kern River Conservancy, and Thomas Refuse, has started an “Adopt a Campground” program to place Dumpsters and Toilets in heavily used areas along the River Corridor. We think that is a good idea. In fact, we think that we should help out too and hope to raise enough money to place at least one dumpster and toilet for the entire Summer. Maybe we can do more with your help.
In jumps you; concerned citizen and beer lover. All you have to do is come to KRBC on Sunday, April 13th after 4 pm and spend money at our Restaurant. Of every dollar you spend between 4 pm and Closing, we donate 100% (that is a dollar for the numerically challenged) to this program. As an added bonus, we will have Double Dirty Hippie on tap, a 10% Imperial Red that is even more counter culture than our normal Dirty Hippie AND Out of the Blue will be playing for your enjoyment. We will also have some yummy specials; I recommend the “Garbage Burger”, “Trash Salad” or “Baby Ruth Sunday”.
So come on by; everybody wins. You get entertainment food and beer, maybe a t-shirt and a growler to go; the Kern River gets cleaner and we get that warm fuzzy feeling that we always get when we help out our community. Skip lunch, grab a designated driver, call in sick to work on Monday and come help us Clean up the Kern!
