Karl Strauss – Sneak Peek Into 22nd and 23rd Anniversary Ale

We’ve just learned from Karl Strauss Brewing that they will be putting their  23rd Anniversary Ale into barrels very soon and will be emptying their 22nd Anniversary out of the barrel. Read on for the details of the beers and the intimate tasting event (Changing of The Barrels) .

Karl Strauss 22nd Anniversary Ale – Will be a Vanilla Imperial Stout blend of 25% ale aged in Bourbon Barrels and 75% fresh ale.

Karl Strauss 23rd Anniversary Ale – Will be an Old Ale blend of 25 % ale aged in Bourbon Barrels and 75% fresh ale.

Karl Strauss will be holding an intimate tasting to try 22nd after being in the barrel, as well as what 23rd tastes like before entering the barrel.

In honor of our new barrel aged anniversary series, we’re inviting a few friends to the brewery to mark the emptying of the 22nd Anniversary Ale from our bourbon barrels and the filling of our 23rd Anniversary Ale. Guests will be the only ones who get to try the unblended version of our 22nd Anniversary Ale, as well as a young version of the 23rd Anniversary Ale that is going into the barrels.

This intimate event will be maxed out at 60 tickets and will take place inside our main brewery in Pacific Beach. Your ticket gets you into the event, along with beer and appetizers, live music, a 22oz bottle of our 22nd Anniversary Vanilla Imperial Stout, and a commemorative 22nd Anniversary snifter.
