Jackie O’s – 8/17 Bottle Release Ft. Dynamo Hum, Evelyn, Chunga’s Old Bruin and More
Some good beer news from Brad over at Jackie O’s. – Here is a way past due update on upcoming events, developments at both the production facility and the brewpub, and some other tid bits!
8/17 Release!
On August 17th we will be releasing some beers at our brewpub located at 24 West Union St. This release will follow the same schedule and procedures as past releases. Calendar pages (page-a-day) will be handed out at 5pm on Friday 8/16 on the brewpub side. The will be available at the bar after the initial rush all night long and the following morning they will be placed on a barrel outside of the brewpub entrance. Please grab you page, only 1. January 1st is #1 in line and so on. The doors to the public house will open at 9am on Saturday 8/17. Breakfast and beers will be served. The bottle sale will start at 11am on Saturday 8/17. There is no bottle sharing permitted at Jackie O’s during Friday or Saturday of this weekend, please do not bring bottles of beers to share. Bottle limits will be announced before the sale starts. Here are the beers!
Dynamo Hum. Our 2013 vintage was aged for 22 months in a Cabernet barrel that had held the previous years Dynamo. Our take on Framboise. On of my personal favorites. $20/22oz
Eveyln. This beer was released last year as part of the STAFF collection. This year we are bringing it to ALL. Evelyn is a barrel aged sour brown ale with raspberries added to the barrel. A blend of an 18 month and a 28 month old barrel. $20/22oz
Chunga’s Old Bruin. Chunga is a sour brown ale aged in oak barrels with cherries added. Our 2013 vintage is a blend of 20 month and 33 month old barrels. Chunga comes in at 8% and has a very rich character with a nice acidic character and both sweet and tart cherry notes. $20/22oz
Cabernet Barrel Aged Aberrance. Aberrance is our black saison. We aged it in a Cabernet barrel for 6 months with some carefully selected wild yeasts and bacterias. The Cabernet barrel added some great complexity and richness to the beer with some hints of funk, fruit, and a nice subtle tartness. At 8%, Aberrrance as a nice full and elegant character. $18/22oz
That covers the majority of the information for the bottle release. With the brewpub back up and running there is a ton of beer on draft up town and we plan on having 30 to 38 different beers on draft for the event! Should be a great time. We also just signed on with Cavalier distribution! This means more beer in more places around Ohio. We have also stepped up production and have order more tanks, kegs, barrels, and Mystic Mama cans to really start hitting it hard. Looking forward to finishing 2013 strong and having a huge year in 2014.
Cheers!
Brad
