J. Wakefield Brewing Releases Paella Inspired Collab Beer
(Miami, FL)—J. Wakefield Brewing will be releasing a new Paella-inspired beer with Chef Aaron Brooks of EDGE Steak & Bar in Four Seasons Hotel Miami. The new beer named, Socorrat, is a 4.2% ABV, rice lager, brewed using Calasparra rice, saffron and lemon.
Socorrat is the term for the delicious crunchy rice that forms at the bottom of a paella pan, when cooking the traditional rice dish from the Valencia region of Spain.
The beer is a collaboration between the J. Wakefield Brewing brew team and Chef Brooks, who cooks a massive paella at the WakeFest Invitational, J. Wakefield’s anniversary party and international beer festival, each year. The festival, now in its seventh year, will be held on April 9, 2022, in Miami.
Socorrat will be released at a special first-pour party at J. Wakefield Brewing, on Sunday, February 6. Chef Brooks will be on hand to cook one of his massive paellas from noon until the paella is sold out. Four packs of 16-ounce cans of Socorrat will be available for purchase for $14.99 in the JWB taproom, while supplies last.
After the release party, Socorrat will be available on draft at both the JWB taproom and EDGE Steak & Bar in Four Seasons Hotel Miami. J. Wakefield Brewing is located at 120 NW 24th Street.
