Introducing Casey Brewing & Blending
(Somewhere near Glenwood Springs, CO) – Troy Casey is proud to announce the creation of Casey Brewing and Blending, a new artisanal brewing company focusing on the art of blending beer in a yet to be determined property located in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley.
Troy, previously a brewer at AC Golden Brewing Company, a division of MillerCoors, has decided to expand on his passion for creating small batch Belgian-style beers by opening Casey Brewing and Blending.
Casey Brewing and Blending will focus on crafting beers using old-world brewing techniques that center on mixed culture fermentation in oak barrels. “We will ferment 100% of our beer in oak barrels using a variety of yeast strains,” said Troy. “For each blend, our goal is to bring together unique flavors from several different barrels to create beers with characteristics that are impossible to create any other way.”
Casey Brewing and Blending will have a tasting room in the heart of their operation for customers to sample blends and learn about their unique production methods.
“Very few blenders remain in Belgium, but they used to be more common than brewers,” said Troy. “Their skill isn’t necessarily in the brewing of beer, but in the fermentation and aging of beer from different breweries to make something completely their own. I’m excited to bring that idea to Casey Brewing and Blending.”
Taking advantage of the diverse range of agriculture grown in Colorado, Casey Brewing and Blending will use Colorado ingredients in every step of their process. “Colorado is one of the few states where every ingredient a brewer needs or could want is grown. From the incredible fruit and emerging hop growing industry on the Western Slope to the amazing grains grown in southern Colorado, we’re excited to showcase these growers in every batch of beer we make.”
