Highland Brewing Little Hump Returns for Spring
(Asheville, NC) — Little Hump, Highland Brewing’s spring seasonal, will be unleashed at the Little Hump Release Party on March 21st in the brewery’s Tasting Room. It will be hitting shelves and bars that same week. This American Pale ale is full of floral hop aroma and flavor due to Simcoe®, Amarillo®, and Cascade hops paired with grains from America’s heartland. Winner of the “2012 Best Session Beer” by the USBTC, Little Hump is the perfect complement to spring.
As with all of Highland’s seasonal beers, the release is a cause for celebration and celebration for a cause. One dollar from each Little Hump and year-round beer sold on at the release party will benefit the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy (SAHC). This nationally renowned organization works to protect the NC and TN Appalachians – the world’s oldest mountains – and their unique plant and animal habitats, water, farmland and scenic beauty. The protected area includes this American Pale Ale’s namesake, Little Hump Mountain in the Highlands of Roan. There is also a scheduled hike to explore Little Hump Mountain and its rare habitats such as spruce-fir forests and grassy balds, and a number of rare plants and animals, including the spruce-fir moss spider, an endangered species that is the world’s smallest tarantula.
The Little Hump release party will be held in the Tasting Room on March 21st from 4-8pm. Food trucks on site will be Pho Ya Belly and Tin Can Pizzeria. The evening’s free music will be from Empire Strikes Brass, a New Orleans second line-style brass band that brings contagious energy with funk and rock.
