Heavy Seas Introduces Dubbel Cannon – A Dubbel IPA!?
This came in my inbox while I was writing my IPA rant. Heavy Seas does a twist on their Loose Cannon IPA. This is an IPA brewed with dark malt, belgian yeast and a lot of hops. If you try this before us, let us know what you think. Cheers!
Announcing the spring release of Heavy Seas Dubbel Cannon, Belgian Style IPA.
Dubbel Cannon, a variation of our Loose Cannon IPA, is fermented with a Belgian Dubbel yeast. Its deep gold color comes from a blending of four malts balanced with six types of hops. Ernesto Igot, Heavy Seas Brewmaster, explains his recipe: “The Chouffe yeast from Belgium adds extra flavor profiles to the beer, like banana and clove. Those notes mix well with the citrus aroma of Loose Cannon.” Pair it with a tuna steak garnished with our Dubbel Cannon Fruit Salsa.
Available early April through June – in 12oz bottles, draft and cask. For more info on this and other Pyrate Fleet beers, visit us www.HeavySeasBeer.com

FWIW, this beer was part of their releases last year, too. If memory serves, it’s pretty good. Definitely nice enough for a pint at a local bar.
