Haven Gastropub in Pasadena Shuts Its Doors
(Pasadena,CA) – The owners of Haven Gastropub & Brewery in Pasadena shared the sad news of closure yesterday on Facebook. For those not familiar with Haven, they are a very new restaurant group here in Southern California, and had an award winning brewery in their Pasadena, CA location. While I can say the beers made there were fantastic, I never had the chance to pop in. It is my believe, and apparently the Haven group the building they were brewing in may be cursed. Here’s a quote from Haven’s FB:
“Thank you for all your kind words. We fought for our life in this building with a cursed history, and took every one of those jobs very seriously. The banks who own the building forced us out through complicated circumstances, and sadly there was just nothing we could do.
You see, before Haven Gastropub and Brewery, there were two other failed brewpubs in that spot. There was Union Cattle Company for a few years, and then there was Brix 42 Brewpub. A combination ultra high rent in Old Town Pasadena, and it being in a weird corner of Old Town Pasadena was likely the reason the past two brewers and Haven were challenged by this spot. We wish the best of luck to the next tenant that chooses to dwell in this unique corner of Pasadena. Additionally, we are confident the Haven group will bounce back from this, and continue making award winning beer.
