Great Lakes Brewing Announces Details on Total Solar Eclipse
(CLEVELAND, OH) — Great Lakes Brewing Co. (GLBC) announces plans for the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse, including a brewpub party and two special brews.
Limited Edition Vanilla Blackout Stout
To celebrate Cleveland’s spot in the path of totality, the brewery will release a limited edition vanilla variant of their fan-favorite Blackout Stout in commemorative 16 oz. Can 4-Packs. Each can features eclipse-inspired artwork including Destination Cleveland’s iconic Cleveland script in celebration of the city’s moment in the cosmic spotlight. The 10.5% alcohol by volume Vanilla Blackout Stout will be available exclusively in the GLBC gift shop and at select Northeast Ohio retailers while supplies last beginning March 22.
In the Path of Totality Partnership
GLBC is proud to represent Ohio as one of the Simons Foundation’s In the Path of Totality brewery partnerships. All 13 partner breweries are located along the path of totality, and each brewery will craft an eclipse-themed beer to commemorate the event. GLBC’s In the Path of Totality: 3:13PM Schwarzbier, named for the time the solar eclipse will pass through the brewery, will be served exclusively on draft at the brewery’s Total Eclipse Party. Total Eclipse Party at the Brewpub April 8 The GLBC brewpub will host a solar eclipse viewing party on April 8. Both Vanilla Blackout Stout and In the Path of Totality: 3:13PM will be served on tap, and complimentary viewing glasses will be provided to guests while supplies last. This event is free and open to the public, with live music by Whiskey Throttle from 2PM – 6PM and eclipse viewing on GLBC’s picturesque Market Avenue patio beginning at 3PM.
