Against The Grain Brewery Collaborates with Stillwater Artisanal Ales
(Louisville,KY) – While traveling the world to promote quality beers, the brewers of AtG and Brian ‘Stillwater’ Strumke have crossed paths many times, often knocking back a few and talking ‘shop’, this allowing for an appreciation of one another’s work. Naturally, we decided that it was time to stop talking and put our mutual respect for each style of brewing together and collaborate.
Against The Grain Brewery (Louisville, KY) & Stillwater Artisanal Ales will collaborate on a beer to be produced in Louisville, KY on December 6th. The, yet to be named, beer will be an expression of both brewers penchant for unique and artisanal styled brewing techniques. Details of the type and style of beer will be released as the project comes to completion.
To celebrate the collaboration and generally jovial experience of brewer collaborations, Against The Grain will host a special prix fixe dinner (on Dec 6. 2013) to be paired with 4 of the Stillwater Artisanal Ales. The dinner will be an inspiration of guest Executive Chef Levon Wallace (Proof On Main, Louisville, KY) and Chef Jordan Delewis (AtG). Stillwater Artisanal Ales is the gypsy brewing project headed by Baltimore brewer Brian Strumke, who was formerly a techno DJ, who decided to enter the world of commercial brewing in 2010. Much like other gypsy brewers, Stillwater borrows space and time from production breweries in the United States and Europe to make unique, flavorful beers. Known for complex and innovative farmhouse ales, along with reinterpretations and “deconstructions” of classic styles, Stillwater approaches each beer as a work of art, bridging the gap of art and craft one beer at a time.
