Genuine Maui Microbrews Now Just a “Stone’s throw” Away
Maui Brewing Co. (MBC) is proud to announce that a distribution agreement has been reached with Stone Brewing Co. Stone Brewing Co. brews excellent beers and also distributes for other breweries in the Southern California area including San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Stone Brewing Co. will distribute MBC’s fine microbrews to a host of retailers. Southern California consumers will now have more accessibility to the trio of genuine Maui-made microbrews packaged by Maui Brewing Co.
Maui Brewing Co. produces genuine Hawaiian microbrews. These beers are wholly produced and packaged in Lahaina by MBC and local ingredients are incorporated as much as possible. Although of course, these are USA products, due to Maui’s geographical location, MBC products can actually be considered “imported” to the mainland, especially given the fact that the Hawaiian Islands are the most isolated group of islands on the planet!
When you are drinking a Maui Brewing Co. microbrew, you are guaranteed that you are enjoying an authentic Maui beer and “keeping it Hawaiian”. Currently Maui Brewing Co. offers the ONLY Hawaiian beer available in the mainland which is actually produced in Hawaii, all others are made in the mainland.
Stone Brewing Co. and Maui Brewing Co. share a strong commitment to the local economy, and deep concern for the environment, MBC microbrews are packaged with the most ecologically-friendly materials. MBC decided on aluminum cans for packaging their Bikini Blonde Lager, Big Swell IPA and CoCoNut Porter The Lager and IPA are available in 6-packs, the Porter, in a 4-pack. The cans are manufactured on Oahu and designed by local Maui artists and have the added bonus of protecting the beer in the best possible manner, protecting the beers from both light and oxygen damage which can seriously compromise the taste.
Common plastic six-pack rings are dangerous to marine life and therefore, you will find a new and unique 100% recycled and reusable plastic carrier holding the cans together. The spent grain from beer production is donated to local ranchers for cattle feed; and proceeds from any cans damaged in production are donated to the Maui Humane Society. BioDiesel made from the fryer at the pub, and supplemented by Pacific BioDiesel, is used in all company vehicles. Solar power and solar thermal energy will also be added to both the pub and brewery to further our commitment. A few months back MBC purchased equipment from Maui Land & Pineapple, preserving a piece of Hawaii’s canning history.
Founder Garrett Marrero and his wife, Melanie, run a 7-barrel brewpub at the Kahana location as well as the 25-barrel full production brewery and canning facility in Lahaina. Maui Brewing Co. is a “fiercely local” company and produces truly local beer as 100% of their products are made in Hawaii as opposed to other “Hawaiian” beers.
