Full Sail Brewing Releases Two Cool Weather Favorites
Brewmaster Reserve Old Boardhead Barleywine Ale and Wreck the Halls
Hood River, Or – You can feel the cold in the air, the east winds are blowing and snow boarders and skiers are making their way up the mountain. The brewery is humming with the anticipation of our holiday releases and here come two of our favorites: Wreck the Halls and Old Boardhead.
Wreck the Halls is a sublime hybrid of an American style IPA with a “Winter Warmer” style strong ale. The result is a bold beer that celebrates the holidays with an intriguing blend of Centennial hops providing elegant citrus notes balanced by a backdrop of a rich caramel malt body.
Wreck the Halls is dry hopped further, thereby amplifying the aroma and flavor. A perfect way to celebrate the season, Wreck the Halls will be available on draught and in 22oz bottles in early November through December. ABV 6.5%, IBU 68.
Old Boardhead Reserve ‘09 is a deliciously rich Barleywine that has a spectacular depth and delicacy of flavor. Deep and robust, it’s a luscious brew to sip in any weather, but it is the perfect ale to warm you during these cold winter months. Old Boardhead also cellars exceptionally well. Store a few bottles in a dark, cool place and be patient – you will be rewarded for your restraint. Old Boardhead will be available in 22oz bottles and on draught in late October. ABV 9% IBU 91.
Both brews will be available in specialty beer stores and pubs throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Full Sail’s 2010 Brewmaster Reserve Program will begin with Slipknot Imperial IPA in January. In February, the brewery will release Top Sail Bourbon Barrel Aged Porter as part of their vintage barrel aged series.
