Firestone Walker Pivo Pils – Preliminary Details
An update on the pending product launch of Firestone Walker Pivo Pils.
Last year, it was heavily rumored Firestone Walker would be rolling out a Black Rye IPA and a Pilsner this year, and of course we now have Wookey Jack Black Rye IPA. After still hearing rumblings of Pivo Pils not much farther behind, we reached out to Firestone to see if Pivo Pils is more than just a one off, 5.3% abv Pilsner being poured at their facilities.
“Just did a second batch. For limited draft distribution…but won’t be seeing it full force until next year. The plan is draft first and then six packs, but will greatly depend upon our ability to fit it into our breweries capacity.”
“Pivo Pilz beer features 100% pilsner malt sourced from Germany and utilizes the same Bavarian yeast as our Oaktoberfest lager (rumored to be very close to the famed Augustiner Yeast). We sourced hops from the Hallertau region of Bavaria to complete the brew and dry hopped the beer togive it an American twist. The finished beer is crisp with a subtle, soft, malty backbone coupled with a characteristic clean hop bitterness followed by light spicy lemon grass accents.”
Tap handle and subsequent label art was not available yet. Please stay tuned here at The Full Pint as we gather more details closer to the launch.
