Epic Brewing Releases 2019 Big Bad Baptist Variant Series

(Salt Lake City, UT) – Big Bad Baptist Coffee Stout season is getting into full swing this fall at Epic Brewing! The creative brew team that works the wood cellar and imagination cave have devoted themselves to coming up with mind-blowing variants that push the original Baptist into different realms. This year, Epic is releasing five unique variants, each with its own distinct inspiration and twist on its world-renown Barrel Aged Imperial Coffee Stout – Vanilla Brandy Barrel, Quintuple Barrel, Peanut Butter Cup, Hazelnut Vanilla Latte, and Chocolate Rapture. Each of these variants will be available in limited quantities in 22 oz. bombers and sold in most markets where Epic is distributed.

The process for creating these realms of Baptist is very similar to the original, each using coffee and cacao, but each variant has its own special flavor profile to compliment the balance and flavor journey the Classic has taken barrel aged beer and coffee fans on for nearly a decade.

• The Chocolate Rapture pushes the boundaries of cacao and adds a touch of vanilla without overwhelming the barrel aged stout. The result is a super decadent stout that goes down richly and will satisfy your chocolate cravings.
• The Hazelnut Vanilla Latte utilizes hazelnuts to achieve a soft, yet rich blend of vanilla and toasted nuts.
• The Peanut Butter Cup simply adds peanuts to create the chocolate-peanut butter combination that goes well with the dark flavors of the Baptist line.
• The Vanilla Brandy Barrel was aged in 100% Brandy barrels that imparted a strong, complex oak character that was smoothed out with cacao, coffee, and vanilla.

And yes, they are doing it — going to the fifth degree realm of barrel aging in a singular beer. The Quintuple Barrel has multiple added spices and flavors, including Barrel-Aged Roasted Cacao Nibs, Barrel-aged Coffee, Barrel-aged Coconut, Barrel-aged Almonds, Barrel-aged Salt and Caramel.

Epic is continuing to offer the original Big Bad Baptist in 22oz bombers, however; the first time ever, the original Baptist will be available in 12 oz., 4-packs cans, in some markets.
