Epic Brewing Announces Expansion News
Salt Lake City, UT – A little over two years after opening its doors, Epic Brewing is ready to expand its brewing capacity yet again.
Epic will be receiving two-80 barrel fermentation tanks and two brite tanks (80-barrel and 20-barrel) on Friday morning for immediate installation. The new fermentation tanks will increase brewing capability by 33% and the new brite tanks will enable Epic to increase production and packaging rates of beer for sale and distribution.
“We are really excited to get these tanks into the building,” says co-owner, David Cole, “In fact, this expansion will almost maximize our production capability in the existing space.”
Epic opened with only six fermentation tanks, but the increase in space and brewing capability over the past two years has given its brewers the flexibility to create beers that have yet to be imagined.
Cole goes on to mention that, “We are pleasantly surprised by the success of the brewery and it goes to show that there is a thriving market for unique craft beers in Utah.”
Brewers worked closely with JV Northwest, manufacturers of high quality tanks from Canby, OR, to create custom engineered tanks for Epic. These top of the line, stainless steel, tanks are resistant to rust and are non-porous for easy cleaning. In addition, they are impervious to oxygen and light, ensuring quality, handcrafted beers. Epic’s entire brewhouse and fermentation tanks are American made.
Prior to this expansion, Epic has had several brewhouse developments in the past two years. After delivery on Friday, Epic will have a total of 18 fermentation tanks and 5 brite tanks. Brewers are looking forward to continuing to create unique, highly sought after, ales and lagers.
