Dock Street Brewing Brings Back The Illuminator
Philadelphia, PA – We are thrilled to announce the return of one of our favorite seasonal brews, The Dock Street Illuminator Bock.
Dock Street Illuminator is a bock beer that is hand crafted in the style that originated in the German town of Einbeck. (Hence ~“Beck” beer.) Over time, ‘Beck’ was corrupted to “Bock” beer. Dock Street Illuminator stays true to the bock beer ingredients.
It is brewed from the finest barley malt, fresh German Tettnang and Hallertau hops, brewer’s yeast. The alcohol by volume is 7.5%. Because of this and its exceptional taste, Michael Jackson referred to Dock Street Illuminator as ‘an enlightening example’ in his 1998 book 500 Classic Brews.
This cult, all time favorite bock was one of the first craft bock beers to be brewed in the US. At the time in the early 90’s, it was considered an “extreme” beer. Today, it is praised and admired for its quality and its “true to style” character. This luscious, bottom fermenting beer has a full, round malty palate complimented by the tangy dry hop overtones of imported Tettnang and Hallertau hops. Be sure to admire the dense, rocky head and savor the fresh, spicy hop ‘nose’. Because of our commitment to the tradition of the brewing process and the use of the finest quality premium ingredients, Dock Street Illuminator Bock is an amazingly fresh, one-of-a-kind bock beer.
The Dock Street Illuminator is available in draft only, so be sure to ask for it at your favorite watering hole. You can also join us at Dock Street Brewery to share a complimentary taste of the harbinger of spring, the Illuminator Double Bock and chat with the brewers, Ben and Justin.
