Details on Terrapin 14th Anniversary Ale

(Athens,GA) – Terrapin Beer Company’s 14th Anniversary Tart Belgian Red Ale is a special beer for a special occasion. Not only has Terrapin been brewing for 14 years but, as luck would have it, this is our 100th unique beer brewed at Terrapin. The beer is brewed with a hefty amount of crystal and special B malts for a dark stone fruit malt flavor. Inspired by the Flanders Red style, our Tart Belgian Red was kettle soured before being moved into fermenters.

The yeast, a Belgian ale strain, creates spicy esters that complement the acidity created by Lactobacillus fermentation. We keep the bitterness level low so the tartness comes through and balances out the malt profile.

From the Label: For Terrapin’s 14th year anniversary, we thought we would celebrate with a Tart Belgian Red Ale. Brewed with a copious amount of crystal malts for a majestic red color, and fermented with Lactobacillus and a Belgian yeast strain for an acidic and spicy finish, this anniversary ale is one to appreciate all year long.
