Details On Bruery Terreux
(Orange County,CA) – If you haven’t been following along, Bruery Terreux is our soon to launch farmhouse-style brewery. The focus will be 100% on beers brewed with brettanomyces yeast strains, souring bacteria such as lactobacillus, or a bit of both. It’s a chance to have specialized staff, as well as equipment, dedicated to either The Bruery or Bruery Terreux, perfecting what we started with only The Bruery nearly seven years ago.
We’ll be releasing beer on a rolling basis over the next few months with our initial beer launch on Earth Day, April 22nd, at our Tasting Room and shortly thereafter throughout California. Slowly and steadily, we’ll be sending these beers out across the country, wherever The Bruery beer is currently sold.
Firstly, let’s set your minds at ease. The launch of the new brand will in no way affect the way that any of our Societies work, besides opening up our opportunities to make even higher quality beer for you. Preservation Society members should expect one bottle of Bruery Terreux beer in each of their quarterly allocations and Reserve and Hoarders Society members will find Bruery Terreux beers in their monthly offerings. Nothing extra needs to be done on your end, consider your membership a membership to the entire Famille Rue.
And now onto the beer!
The first two beers to be released will be the newly rebranded versions of Saison Rue® and Sour in the Rye®. Bottles will be available at our Tasting Room on Earth Day, April 22nd as well as draft of Sour in the Rye along with a few other unique Bruery Terreux beers on tap, Bruery Terreux Bruers to speak with, some new merchandise for purchase and, of course, our other delicious Tasting Room offerings. It should be a nice day for you to check out the new branding and enjoy our year-round rye saison and our seasonal rye sour ale.
Following Saison Rue and Sour in the Rye, we’ll be releasing the rebranded bottles of Hottenroth® Berliner Weisse which will now be a year-round offering! Yes, that is right — our tart, bready, refreshing, citrusy Berliner weisse will be available to you whenever you want it, which is especially wonderful here in SoCal for our seemingly endless summer.
Next up, a brand new beer for Bruery Terreux’s year-round lineup: Beret™
Beret is an imperial sour wit beer, fermented in oak with raspberries added for just a hint of fresh fruit flavor before bottling. Balanced, fruity, and bright, this will be a delicious addition to shelves and draft faucets near you.
Why stop there? We have two more year-round beers on the docket that we hope to have released by Summer.
Gypsy Tart™ is our version of a classic Flanders-style brown ale, or Oude Bruin as one might say. A malty, brown ale fermented in stainless steel with just enough of our souring bacteria and yeast to give it a hint of tartness, while maintaining its natural, malty, brown sugar-like sweetness.
Humulus Terreux™ is our final year-round offering from Bruery Terreux. This one is a bit of an amalgamation of what we love about beer. It’s a riff on a country-style blonde ale fermented with Brettanomyces and a heap of dry hops at the end for a fresh, lemony zing.
All of our classic sour seasonals will also be making a return with Bruery Terreux, including Tart of Darkness®, Rueuze® and our multiple gold medal award winning Flanders-style red ale, Oude Tart®. And, as you may have suspected, we have a slew of tricks already stuffed up our sleeves and you’ll be the first to hear about those when the time comes… our Reserve and Hoarders Society members might even want to watch their inboxes for a surprise release to go along with our initial bottle release on Earth Day 🙂
Our local fans will be happy to know that we plan on breaking ground on a Bruery Terreux tasting room in August with the hopes that we can be open by the end of the year (construction and permitting dependent). We hope to offer a similarly exciting, but decidedly different experience there to go along with our Wildly Traditional Bière™.
