Craft Beer News Roundup: The Bruery, Twisted Pine, Green Flash, Jester King and Fort Collins Brewery
Our crackpot craft beer news team is back from summer vacation with beer news items from The Bruery, Twisted Pine, Green Flash Brewing, Jester King Brewing and Fort Collins Brewery. Hopefully more to come today. Cheers!
The Bruery – Re: Batch 50 Grand Funk Ale Road‘s pending release: ” Hopefully this Fall, but it all depends how the bottle conditioning goes. Batch 50 is actually bottled with several different strains of Brett, so it’s doing quite a bit of maturation within the bottle before we release it.”
Twisted Pine Brewing – “We just released our Bough Breaker Barleywine – a 9% abv 120 IBU anniversary ale, to celebrate our 16th birthday. We’re going to the Summer Brewfest at Mile High Station in Denver this Friday and Kyle’s Fest at Boulder Beer this Saturday. We added Musical Trivia to our taproom, 6:30-8:30p every week. We’re also getting ready for a big expansion, growing our capacity by 40% and adding new equipment to our warehouse and packaging areas. ”
Green Flash – As we posted many weeks ago, Green Flash Brewing has moved from their small brewery in Vista to their new bigger brewery in Mira Mesa. They will be holding their grand opening party this weekend, and we’d like to see you come out to support them. Silva Stout anyone? Click here to see the official flyer of Green Flash’s Grand Opening party.
Jester King Brewing – Jester King is set to have Drink’in The Sunbelt and Commerical Suicide in bottles this summer. Additionally they will be releasing a Berliner Weisse hopefully by late summer. They will be adding 60 bbls to their brewhouse to accommodate growing demand.
Fort Collins Brewery – “Fort Collins Brewery is proud to announce Elite Brands as the company’s new beer distributor for Colorado. With over thirty years experience in the industry, the partnership will allow for better service and expansion into more stores.” “The third installment in the four-part “Know Your Brewer” Incredible Hop Series, Imperial India Wheat Ale, will be available July 22nd. The Imperial India Wheat Ale is a cross between a double-IPA and an American wheat beer creating a unique and bold flavor. Centennial and Cascade hops impart refreshing orange and grapefruit notes. A Malt bill that consists of 50% wheat creates a pleasantly light body and bready flavor. The beer pours a pale gold with a slight haze and a rocky white head. The nose is bursting with North American Hops, very citrusy and slightly pungent. The flavor is very hoppy, yet still balanced. The finish is dry, with a lingering lemon bitterness.
Supplies of this brew are very limited; 22 oz bombers will be available for a limited time in select markets. Join Paul in the FCB Tap Room July 22nd for a one-on-one about beer, brewing, and beer culture. This FREE event is the third in the “Know Your Brewer” series featured in correlation with the Incredible Hop Series. “
