Craft Beer News Roundup: Sun King, Bootleggers, Short’s, Drake’s and Maine Beer Co.
It’s time for a roundup of the craft beer news persuasion. Read on for important news bites from Sun King Brewery, Bootlegger’s Brewery, Short’s Brewery, Drake’s Brewery and Maine Beer Co. Cheers!
Sun King Brewery – “Bitter Druid ESB will no longer be a year round offering. We will offer it only twice a year.” “We have been increasing our Barrel Age program, no big releases yet. We are also building up our Sour program. We recently renovated 8,000 square feet of space, a building on our property, to house our growing Barrel Aging & Sours. ”
Bootleggers Brewery – Bootlegger’s has a few new bottled beers on the horizon including Far Out IPA and Galaxian Barleywine to name a few. We also heard real exciting news in that Imperial Phoenix took a 12 month rest in bourbon barrels, and will be bottled and sold in a limited release 22 oz. bottles.
Short’s Brewing – Short’s will be bottling the 1000th production batch of Huma Lupa Licious and it will be a very special batch indeed. The first ever DOUBLE Huma, Awwjeah will be released at our pub during our Anniversary Party. Since the malt bill for this beer was so huge, we decided to keep the final runnings of each mash in and lager it for a special side project called Mmkay. Both of these beers will be on tap at our Anniversary Party, and bottles of Awwjeah will be available for sale only at our Pub from that date forward, though it will likely sell out right away.
Drake’s Brewery – You would think after this past month we would take some time to recover. Instead, we’re planning to move in two 80 barrel tanks and get to brewing even more beer. Last month we got a catwalk installed in the cellar to help the brewers get to the top of our bigger tanks for dry-hopping without the need for precarious ladders and safety harnesses. We also managed to move a few more of our tanks from one side of the brewery into the new cellar.
Maine Beer Co. – OK. Here it is. Thank You Allan went on sale at the brewery today at 9am. $10 from every bottle goes to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. Do what’s right and come buy some beer and support our animal friends. Our hours for Thursday and Friday are 9-5pm. Thank You Allan is our barrel aged farmhouse ale (fermented with ale and brett yeast aged in french oak Syrah barrels). There are 250 hand numbered bottles. 9am is the opening time for our loyal email subscribers. 10am for everyone else. Thanks for buying our beer!
