Craft Beer News Roundup: Dogfish Head, Stone, SweetWater and More!
Craft Beer News Roundup – Tidbits on Dogfish Head, New England Brewing, SweetWater Brewing, Stone Brewing, Milstream Brewing, Rubicon Brewing and Maui Brewing.
Dogfish Head – Batch 2 of Bitches Brew is being bottled today, for distribution in December. It’ll go to markets where we already sell except NH, MI & TN (so sorry to folks there!) according to Dogfish Head’s Facebook page. We are getting excited for Brewmasters, we will be providing recaps of each episode with one of a kind perspective.
New England Brewing – Imperial Stout Trooper is getting ready for this return. This will also be ready in December, and will be a larger yield than previous batches.
Sweetwater Brewing– Sweetwater showed a cool video on their Facebook page, in which they are packaging Festive Ale 2010 in 22 oz. bottles, and dipping them into wax. Their holiday ale hasn’t gotten as much play as other vintaged winter warmers, and I would guess that this larger, waxed dipped packaging might help them along with the cult following situation.
Stone Brewing – Stone Brewing is outgrowing their almost 4 year old facility in Escondido. Mitch Steele mentioned on his Facebook page that office workers will be moving down the street to accommodate room for brewing, retail and restaurant operations.
Milstream Brewing – Milstream has just released their Schokolade Bock for the holidays. Also of note, Colony Oatmeal Stout has been put into retirement and has been replaced with Back Road Stout. Milstream explains that Brewmaster Chris was so excited when the alcohol laws changed last March, and wanted to take the 5.7% abv brew up to 6.7% abv. Other than that, it’s the same beer, just bigger.
Rubicon Brewing – Rubicon, the most known brewery in Sacramento, shared some details about the upcoming Sacramento Beer Week. The 9 day long beer week will go from February 27 – March 6, 2011, and will feature 9 Rubicon events.
Maui Brewing – Maui Brewing just took their new canning line for a spin. In other news, they have already announced the date of their 3rd Annual Maui Brewer’s festival, which will be May 14, 2011. For now, save the date, and check back with us for details on the beer, music and food.
