Craft Beer News Roundup: Avery,Cigar City,Wachusett,Green Flash + More
Here are some quick tidbits we wanted to pass along from Avery Brewing, Cigar City Brewing, Wachusett Brewing, Green Flash Brewing, and Big Boss. Cheers, TFP
Avery Brewing – Avery expects to get two new 240bbl fermentation vessels installed within the next two weeks. This will significantly increase their production capacity and allow them to continue expanding at our current rate of over 30% per year.
Also, this month Joe’s Premium American Pilsner (draft) will be shipped outside of the State of Colorado–to Southern California–for the first time.
Cigar City Brewing – They’ve ordered 4 new 30 bbl fermenters. This will take us to 3, 60 bbls, 5, 30 bbls and 6, 15 bbl tanks which along with our open fermenter and pilot system will take us to 455 bbls worth of fermentation capacity. They’ve also been brewing on our pilot system a lot lately and will have a Dark Mild, a Table Saison and an Imperial Sweet Stout brewed by our pilot brewer, Ben Romano, ready to drink in the coming weeks.
Mikkel from Mikkeller will be in town December 6th to brew a collaboration beer with them. It will be a Rum-Barrel Aged Sweet Stout brewed with Raisins.
They also have a collaboration with St. Somewhere Brewing coming up in the next month which will be a black saison (people thought Sea Bass was the collaboration, it was not, Sea Bass was more of a cross between a Flemish Brown and a Saison) brewed with elderberry flowers, locally foraged lemon leaves, Hibiscus, homemade candy sugar and black currants in secondary.
Wachusett Brewing – The brewery has just purchased a warehouse about a mile up the road in Fitchburg. We’ll be using it as our distribution facility. All tours, tastings, and brewing will still be held at our 175 State Road East Westminster, MA facility, though. They needed more room to make the donuts!
Green Flash Brewing – Only two weeks left to get tickets for their 8th Anniversary Celebration. Follow this link to get tickets.
Big Boss Brewing – Aces and Ates Coffee Stout is back! This winter stout is brewed with ten different malts to create a complex and distinctive beer. They add organic fair-trade coffee, which is specially produced for Big Boss by coffee experts Larry’s Beans. this synergistic seasonal brew is offered for a limited time in the winter season. Keg’s have been shipped to all their distributors plus you can enjoy one at the Big Boss Tap Room starting Thursday at 5pm(TODAY!).
