Cold Hop British-Style is on the way!
Boulder, CO – Boulder Beer Company, Colorado’s First Microbrewery, announces the 2008 release of Cold Hop British-Style Ale.
Since 1979, the brewers at Boulder Beer Company have been innovating and reinterpreting classic styles of English origin. The development of Cold Hop British-Style Ale came about as a nod to their founders’ roots as homebrewers. They tapped into the expertise of an old friend, Charlie Papazian, author of “The Complete Joy of Homebrewing,” expanded on one of his favorite recipes and gave it their own twist. In the words of the Brits, they’re “over the moon” with the result.
The recipe for Cold Hop British-Style Ale calls for only the finest imported hops and barley. Sparing no expense, Boulder Beer Company imports rare aromatic hops from New Zealand and flavorful Czech hops, imparting a fruity, floral hop character to the beer. To perfectly balance the hop profile, they bring in rich golden malt from Great Britain, a variety of grain traditionally used in English Ales.
Cold Hop was the 7th release in Boulder Beer Company’s growing Looking Glass Series of specialty beers and was first released in 2007 as a seasonal beer. This year’s release will be available August through October in 12-ounce 6-packs, 22-ounce bottles and 15.5 gallon draft. It will be released in all markets where Boulder Beer Company brands are sold.
Other brands in the brewery’s Looking Glass Series include Hazed & Infused Dry-Hopped Ale, MoJo India Pale Ale, MoJo Risin’ Double IPA, Never Summer Ale, Sweaty Betty Blonde wheat beer, Obovoid Oak-Aged Stout and Killer Penguin Barleywine.
