Blue Mountain Brewery News – Seasonal Releases and Expansion
Some interesting beer news tidbits from Blue Mountain Brewery from Afton, Virginia.
Our Cascade Tribute Ale (made with all of our own hops; Cascade & Centennial) will be out on draft today. Over 100 volunteers came out for our 1st Annual Hop Festival to help pick for this very special beer.
We’ve also hired a new brewer, R. Mitchel Hamilton, formerly of Sweet Water in GA, which means we have been able to double our production for distribution. This makes 1 Head Brewer and 2 Brewers for our facility. Things are going very smoothly.
Oktoberfest will be kicking off Monday, Sept. 27th and going through Sunday, October 3rd. We’ll be releasing our Humpbock Oktoberfest Lager. Third year for this beer but man it is better than ever. Giveaways, specials and live music will be available at the brewery during the entire week.
Steal the Glass is every 1st Thursday of every month. This month it falls the Thursday before Labor Day weekend so we’ll have lots of tourists starting their weekend off here by buying a $5 beverage and keeping the logo pint glass it comes in. No limits.
We are waiting on some things to come through but hopefully by February 2011 we’ll be breaking ground on a new addition which will be the main brew pub (about double the size of our current one) and our current brew pub will become our events facility.
