American Craft Beer Week Comes to Hollywood

Blue Palms Brewhouse to donate $1 of every pint of beer for the week of May 11th-17th to local YMCA!

Hollywood, CA – The Blue Palms Brewhouse, Hollywood’s first Original American Taphouse and Restaurant, will celebrate their passion for American craft beers during the week of May 11th-17th. To celebrate the passion and art of American craft beer we are going to donate $1 of every pint of beer for the week to the Hollywood YMCA. We will ask everyone who would like to participate in this program to fill out a Declaration of Beer Independence to pledge their support for American brewers. “The Hollywood YMCA is a great local organization that provides a very important service to our community and we are happy to support them in every way”, says proprietor Brian Lenzo.

“We are excited to work with the Blue Palms Brewhouse, a great local restaurant,” says Annie Dyess, Interim Executive Director for the Hollywood Wilshire YMCA. “The money raised will go to our social service programs which consist of our Brighter Future Program, Teen Center, and our Youth Programs that benefit the LA community.”

Small and independent craft brewers provide nearly 100,000 jobs, and in 2008 the total taxable barrels of beer produced by craft brewers was $8,596,971. Additionally, many craft brewers go to incredible lengths and great costs to lessen their impact on their surrounding environment and community. Representing 4% by volume and 6.3% in dollars of the overall beer market, consumer interest in the craft sector continues to grow, but not without challenges.
