Almanac Beer – Farmer’s Reserve Citrus Returns + Chicago Expansion
(San Francisco,CA) – Citrus and beer have made a great pair ever since the first lemon wedge was added to a frosty wheat beer. With Farmer’s Reserve Citrus we expand upon that tradition.
This year’s recipe unites our sour blond ale with the intensely aromatic zest of Buddha’s Hand citrons and the bracing tartness of Yuzu and Blood Oranges from Hamada Farms.
Hand-chopped and zested fruit was added to the beer, which has been allowed to barrel age since the winter citrus harvest, creating a refreshing sour ale that highlights the natural tartness of fresh citrus.
Subtle fruit sweetness and a clean, effervescent finish make Farmer’s Reserve Citrus an easy favorite for longtime sour beer fans and newbies alike.
Suggested Pairings: Compliments sushi and flakey white fish, or contrasts with earthy roasted root vegetables.
Almanac’s founders hail from the Midwest and have always loved the Windy City. We’re excited to announce that Almanac beers will be available in Chicago starting later this month thanks to a partnership with Wirtz Beverage Illinois.
