Almanac Beer Co. introduces three new beers for autumn, with limited availability. Learn more about Dogpatch Sour, Heirloom Pumpkin Barleywine and Flowering Gose
7.5% ABV | 375ml bottles & limited draft
This barrel-aged wild ale is named for our San Francisco neighborhood and pays tribute to the Flanders Red style of beer. Aged in wine barrels, this lightly tart ale is brewed with California Rainier cherries using a house blend of wild yeasts, bacteria and SF sourdough yeast. Pair this complex ale with ripe figs & blue cheese or seafood bouillabaisse.
Heirloom Pumpkin Barleywine
12% ABV | 375ml bottles & limited draft
This is a beer made with real pumpkins. We hand-roasted over 500 lbs of heirloom pumpkins from La Tercera Farms in Bodega Bay. The caramelized gourds were then added to our velvety American Barleywine and aged in brandy barrels for a year. Finally, we blended the barrel-aged beer with freshly brewed ale and added a delicate hint of pumpkin pie spices to round out this decadent autumn sipper.
5% ABV | limited draft only
Our Gose is a special draft-only release inspired by the classic wheat beer hailing from Leipzig, Germany. Traditionally brewed with salt and coriander, our tart California-inspired version is brewed with San Francisco Bay Sea Salt and fresh green coriander berries and flowers grown specifically for us by farmer Andy Griffin at Mariquita Farms in Watsonville, California. Fermented with our house saison yeast, this delicate and tart beer is a perfect summer refresher. Pair with local seafood and sunshine.
