3 Floyds State of The Brewery – March 2011
3 Floyds Brewing issues a State of The Brewery, addressing their continued growth and demand as well as a “Thank You for your Support.”
We have no official word from 3 Floyds on the magnitude of product demand, but we have heard from various members of the supply chain that feelings are charged in reaction to some accounts not being able to get 3 Floyds.
It is my opinion this (the State of the Brewery) is a proactive measure, and an indirect approach to an apology. Anyway, we support and drink 3 Floyds, so in response, “Your Welcome.”
Dear Three Floyds Devotee,
We at the brewery wanted to take a moment to give our supporters a brief state-of-the- brewery address and share what we’ve been up to the past year. Thanks to your support, things could not be better. The company has seen some substantial expansion, as well as new brands and some pretty fun events. In 2010 we produced 15,005.2 barrels of beer (1 barrel equaling 31 gallons) over 2009’s 11,030.9 barrels. Not bad growth considering that in 2006 we produced 5,300 barrels. Just last week we fired up our new whirlpool tank that is an efficiency dream come true for our little brewery. We also have two brand spanking new 120 barrel fermenters en route, in addition to the six tanks we purchased last year. We’ve also hired several new employees and seen some major improvements in our pub. What allows for this growth is an awesome surge in craft beer awareness and an increasing desire for our beers. It’s a desirable problem to have a growing market, but in our case demand consistently exceeds our growth. We appreciate your continued support as we try to get a pint in everyone’s hand. Steady, consistent growth while maintaining quality control is our priority. Despite our increase in production, Three Floyds does not have intentions on global domination. We just want to make the best beer we can and try to keep up with growing demand in Indiana, Illinois and the rest of our region. We hope you’ll come and visit us in Munster to get an idea of the size and philosophy of our brewery, while enjoying a good meal and pint. Seeing the facility and those involved enhances the experience of our beer. We cannot overstate our respect and gratitude to those of you who support craft beer and Three Floyds.
