Charlotte to Host 2nd Annual Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival
Festival Returning to Symphony Park at SouthPark Mall
Charlotte, NC – Moorea Marketing today announced that it will host the second annual Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival at Symphony Park at SouthPark Mall on Saturday, July 12, 2008. Special VIP admission runs from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., followed by general admission from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Attendees will able to indulge in tasting the best beers, sipping the finest bourbons and eating the best barbeque that Charlotte has to offer. Over sixty craft beers and over forty different bourbons will be available for tasting.
We had tremendous success last year with it being the inaugural festival in Charlotte, and will continue the tradition this year,” explains Greg Nivens, president of Moorea Marketing, the show’s producer. “This festival offers a vast array of flavors – over 60 beers and 40 different types bourbons to sample all day. This is a 50% increase in products from last year.” “Our only problems last year were that we underestimated the crowd for the Charlotte event. We had about double the amount of folks we expected.
This year we have tripled our beverage order, added three huge tents for exhibits and shade and we’ve brought in Charlotte’s biggest hams – John Boy and Billy from 99.7 The Fox.” While enjoying the Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival, guests can enjoy the diverse sounds of Gael Warning, Gypsy Drug Store and Part Time Blues Band, who will be performing live on the Main Stage.
In the Bourbon Tasting Theater, there will be over five tasting classes to heighten people’s awareness of the f lavor profile of great bourbons and beers. Others can enjoy viewing the great displays or shopping the 30-plus craft and spice vendors. Exhibits also include motorcycles, grilling equipment and an outdoor cigar tent for cigar aficionados. A new element added to this year will be the change to two tasting sessions. The first is a VIP tasting running from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a tasting from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Hands on Charlotte, a nonprofit volunteer service organization who promotes volunteerism and direct community service to meet Charlotte’s most critical needs. Admission to the festival is $30.00 in advance or $35.00 on-site and includes admission into the event, a souvenir glass and unlimited samplings. VIP Admission is $40.00 (available in advance only). Designated driver admission is also available for $15.00 and includes admission to the event. Kids 12 and under are free.
