Submitted by Dan on September 24, 2009 – 5:57 am No Comment

Unibroue Trois PistolesFrom Unibroue - Trois Pistoles (Three Coins) is named after a small village in the region of Les Basques in Québec. Founded over 300 years ago, Trois Pistoles gave birth to several legends, including one about a sailor who dropped his tumbler overboard and exclaimed, “Trois Pistoles!” in reference to its worth in old Spanish currency.

Unibroue – Trois Pistoles – 12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 9% abv. Purchased at Beverages and More, Pasadena, CA

Appearance: Pours a midnight maroon with a fluffy head that subsides to a white ring.

Aroma: Unripe strawberries, sour grapes, fruity Belgian yeast, and brown sugar.

Taste: Sweet red grape, plum skin, clove and spicy hop.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and fizzy.

Overall: Another solid, tasty and strong beer from Unibroue.
