Rahr & Sons Voted “Best Down South Craft Brewery”

Submitted by Dan on April 1, 2009 – 5:00 am One Comment

Rahr & Sons BrewingIn a see-saw battle between tiny Rahr & Sons Brewing of Fort Worth and Sweetwater Brewing of Atlanta Georgia, Rahr emerged the winner of the online poll sponsored by thefullpint.com. Rahr polled 2,098 votes to Sweetwater’s 1,925.

“While this only counts for bragging rights,” said Tony Formby, Rahr’s Managing Partner, “it says a lot about the support Rahr enjoys in the Fort Worth and Dallas communities. Our marketing strategy focuses on the highest quality beers and a healthy dose of community involvement.” Rahr sponsors and supports many DFW charities and non profit groups.

Special thanks go out to Rahr volunteers, Charlie Smith and Christine Akey who headed up the Rahr Get Out the Vote campaign. “Great job also to Sweetwater” said Formby, “they are obviously a pretty cool group”.

Rahr brews traditional German style lagers and British ales. Rahr’s brewing capacity is 4,000 bbl per year. Rahr hosts a Tour & Tasting at the brewery every Saturday with live music and BBQ from 1-3pm. www.rahrbrewing.com
