Three Times the Flavor: New Folly Packs Are An Ideal Way to Savor a Variety of New Belgium Brews

Mixed Packs Feature Old Favorite Old Cherry Ale and the New Mighty Arrow

Fort Collins, CO – New Belgium Brewing announced that it is now packaging mixed twelve packs called “Folly Packs.” The sampler packs are the only place where beer lovers can find bottles of an old favorite, Old Cherry Ale, and the introduction of a new beer, Mighty Arrow Pale Ale.

The Folly Packs are available in all New Belgium markets with the exception of Iowa due to its slightly higher alcohol content (6.5% abv).

To the joy of long-time New Belgium followers, Old Cherry Ale is making a return after a decade off the market. Available only in the Folly Pack, this traditional fruit beer is an amber ale fermented with montmorency cherries grown in Washington state. It has a rich aroma, and a delicate balance of cherry tartness and barley malt sweetness.

Also finding its way into mixed packs are bottles of Mighty Arrow Pale Ale, one of the newest brews created at the Mothership. Dedicated to the late Arrow, an Aussie/border collie mix and longtime pet of founder Kim Jordan, this pale ale provides pleasurable aromatics from Cascade and Amarillo hops with a fetching honey malt base. Mighty Arrow has a clear golden color, 6% alcohol by volume and 35 IBUs.

“These folly packs will allow folks to try some of the other New Belgium beers they’ve been meaning to get to with a few surprises thrown into the mix,” said Bryan Simpson, spokesperson for New Belgium. “It’s a nice place for us to play around with new beers and bring some old favorites back to life.”
