Review – Green Flash Hop Head Red
Contributed by Jon W
Green Flash Brewing Co. San Diego, CA Poured From 12oz Bottle to Pint Glass. 6.3% abv.
Appearance: Pours a nice amber/red color with awesome retention and even more awesome lacing.
Aroma: A very “fresh” hop smell up front, balanced by some nice sweet smelling maltiness. The “fresh” hop smell is due in part to the fact this is a dry-hopped ale. Imagine running your lawnmower over a huge patch of HOPS. Yeah, it smells that good, much better than grass(the kind on your lawn silly!)
Taste: Really HOPPY and rich. The malt is balanced perfectly with the bitterness and floral/citrusy flavor of the hops. The experienced hop palate will notice the taste of this awesome “dry hopped” ale..
Mouthfeel: Pretty darn light with a good amount of fizz. Not too heavy, but not too light. Quite a perfect balance of malty sweetness and hoppy goodness! Huuge hops right out front with a slight lingering malt taste
Drinkability: HIGHLY, HIGHLY Drinkable! This has turned out be one of my new favorites! A must try for all my HOP HEADS out there…Perfect for those hot summer days..Definitely a “session” type beer. I could drink lots of these..AND I HAVE!!..
