Bell’s Brewing – Bell’s Special Double Cream Stout – Poured from 12oz Bottle into a pint glass… Abv. 6.1% by vol.
Appearance: Poured a very nice black, sort of molasses color with a dark mocha/tan head that dissipated quite quickly..
Smell: Chocolate, Cream, Coffee, Roasted Malts.. smelled very sweet and delicious!!
Taste: Very chocolaty and rich. Creamy like a cream soda! Some hints of caramel and vanilla, with a nice lingering roasted malt at the end…
Mouthfeel : Smooth and velvety, like at the end of a root beer float when the ice cream melts in the root beer!! Again, very creamy and full bodied with a minimal amount of carbonation..
Drinkability: Highly drinkable stout! My new favorite indeed. Although very rich and creamy this one doesn’t seem to be very “filling” at all..Bell’s once again comes thru with this one….
