Jester King Might Rename Mikkeller Collaboration To….
Will Jester King Craft Brewer do a ‘little na-na na-na boo boo stick your head in doo doo’ to the TABC?
You may remember that back in November we had our open brew day with Mikkeller where we brewed Ale/Malt Liquor in TX Geek Brunch, a strong stout brewed with smoked malt, chipotle peppers and Vietnamese weasel coffee. We ended up sending the first batch to oak, whiskey barrels for aging. Last month we brewed Batch No. 2, which we have scheduled for release in March. We plan on having a release party similar to the one we had last March for the release of our first collaboration beer with Mikkeller – Drink’in the Sunbelt.
We’re actually still deciding whether to stick with the name “Ale/Malt Liquor in TX Geek Brunch” following our partial lawsuit victory against TABC, which allows us to call beer over 5% alcohol by volume “beer”. We can now legally call the beer “Texas Beer Geek Brunch” as we had originally intended.
