Deschutes Dissident 2010 Release Info
Deschutes The Dissident is set to make a return for September 2010.
When: September What:Reserve Series (22-ounce wax-dipped bottles and draft)
Eighteen months in isolation, The Dissident is a distinctive Flanders-style brown ale, with a fruity aroma and flavor. Our only wild yeast beer, brettanomyces and lactobacillus impart its characteristic sour taste.
Lavished with whole western Washington cherries – pits, stems and all – (which, by the way, our brewmaster picks out personally during family vacations, to the tune of much eye-rolling from his children). It’s our wildest, most expensively pampered beer. Where: Available in all 15 states where Deschutes is sold
Here is some more info we gathered on this beer.
It will be 9% Alcohol by Volume (ABV), it will also be available on tap. We learned that there is only going to be 170 barrels made, compared to 500 barrels dedicated to The Abyss. Because the beer is bugged with wild yeast, it uses a seperate bottler, so that all the other beers don’t become infected. Deschutes told us they would like to one day cork and cage this fancy beer however right now it isn’t cost effective.
