Review – Atlanta Brewing Red Brick Winter Brew

I have recently entered into the world of beer trading, and found out that “goodies” come with the main trade.  I was surprised to receive an extra special goodie in the form of Atlanta Brewing Co.’s Red Brick Winter Brew: Double Chocolate Oatmeal Porter.  How about some more Christmas in July!!

Atlanta Brewing Co. Red Brick Winter Brew – Double Chocolate Oatmeal Porter – 12 oz bottle poured into a New Belgium beer glass. 7.5% abv.

Appearance: Root beer brown with white foamy suds.

Aroma: Oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips.

Taste: Cocoa, coffee and burnt malts.

Mouthfeel: Silky and velvety.

Overall: Full of flavor but a tad bit watery side.  The alcohol warmed me up, and I wish it was an option for me in my Christmas beer shoping here in California.
