Review – Deschutes Jubelale 2007

Happy Holidays. Here is a review on Deschutes Jubelale 2007 Winter Warmer ale. I did this along with Hop Trip and Mirror Pond, and found this to be the winner of the three.
Appearance: Poured from a 12 oz bottle to a pint glass. This ale is a dark amber/dark red. Shows a 1/16 inch head and lets about 50% light through.
Aroma: Reminds me of Frank’s Black Cherry Wishniak Soda . You will have had to have smelled it in the past as Frank’s is no longer around.
Taste: Tart like a fresh cranberry or a very tart sparkling fruit juice with spices. Alcohol is present when puckering, finishes with a hop spice.
Mouthfeel: Tartness makes your mouth feel tight. Perfect carbonation on the tongue.
Drinkability: Very drinkable, might serve well with holiday hors d’oeuvres. I would put this at the top of my list for the long list of winter ales.
