Oskaar, the issue with Oude Tart, is not many people have tried it. It was such a limited run. Knuckle Sandwich has been making it’s way all over the US in trades lately.

It’s a tough one because there’s some great beers but I’d have to say Bootlegger’s Knuckle Sandwich. It’s redefined IPAs. The Gubna is good but it’s way expensive and not as good as the Knuckle. Check out my show on Bootlegger’s Brewery at http://www.beersinparadise.com/?p=2306

Just picked up a bottle of SOS due to it’s popularity on this site. Can’t wait, my favorite Pilsner I had this year was My Anotnia, but I don’t think that’s a 2010 beer.

Shorts Anniversary Ale (2010, if that’s not obvious)
Hoppy Wheat Wine with blood orange juice/zest and green peppercorns was the most impressive beer I had this year (Founder’s Looking Glass and some other very fresh hoppy beers being the numerous runners up).
It managed to be bold and innovative, but still tastes like beer and possesses enough subtlety to please the discerning, sipping beer nerd. Or at least that’s what I thought.

That said; I would have never tried Founder’s Nemesis 2010 had I known beforehand that it was a barley wine.

HOLY FLYING COW DUNG. I thought it was a stout. Albeit, the most amazing stout I’ve ever tried, but a stout nonetheless. Boy was I surprised!

I got this link from DFH on Twitter.
I was looking for Hunahpu… couldn’t find it
We don’t even get “the Bruery” here in Minnesota but I got my hands on the Oude Tart. That is the finest flanders style beer from the US, hands down, It even rivals and destroys most that originated from the Flanders region in Belgium. La Folie and Dissident barely hold a match to it. I would say Red Poppy gives it a run for the money but they haven’t brewed it for 2 years. Give up the California/Bruery bashing.
I definately would have voted for BCBCS/Hunahpu or a few other beers that aren’t on the list over Oude Tart, but glancing over the list, that is the one that sticks out the most to me.

Website wouldn’t load properly to let me vote, however, due to that, I did notice from the few minutes of trying to reload the website that The Bruery jumped probably over 30pts to be in first place. Obviously,at almost 230am, highly doubt people are voting in masses in a few minutes time frame. Decided this poll is obviously rigged and not worth voting on.

    Ballast Point Brewing and Spirits
San Salvador Farmhouse Ale (Saison Inspired)

Here’s Ballast Point’s description of the beer:
The idea started as a San Diego Farmhouse Ale using local ingredients. We wondered what the Kumeyaay Indian’s were eating when Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo climbed out of his flagship boat, the San Salvador, and onto the shore of Ballast Point in 1542. Also, what might have Cabrillo stocked on his boat before he left Acapulco (then called Navidad) 3 1/2 months earlier? So with some research we tracked down a fun mix of ingredients for a Belgian inspired San Diego indigenous Ale.

With some help from our friends at The Linkery, North Park Native Plants and Wingshadow’s Farm we were able to track down ingredients like corn, pine nuts, agave, elder flower, white sage, manzanita berries, curacao and local sage honey. The malt bill consisted of Belgian pale malt, caramunich, biscuit, wheat and corn. The result is a 7.5% ABV, brown beer that really has to be tasted to be understood. It tastes like the San Diego countryside.

Foggy Noggin Brewing (Bothell,WA) should be on the list. Opened March 2010 with 2 flagship beers – Bit O’Beaver (English Bitter) and Christmas Duck (Porter). Already received Best Nano-brewery award. Traditional English Ales on small 1/2 BBL batches.

Not on the list, but maybe the best beer I’ve ever had is Firestone Walker Parabola.
