I think he’s going after craft beer drinkers too. I started a website to help promote this agenda! BeerDrinkersForObama.com

I agree and disagree. While I agree that the time was used to their full advantage, it’s not like these recipes are new. Re-establishing brewing in the White House (Which I would argue is more American than anything else, apple pie included.) almost as soon as he became President.

Also, this petition was started not by the White House, but on the technology that this administration setup to help people communicate with the White House. Go now, you can start your own petition.

I believe they saw a petition that was growing and growing in signatures, surpassed the level required by the site, and they saw nothing but a positive to releasing the recipe.

I was very pleased to see not one, but two beer recipes.

Now I would have been even happier if the recipes would have told me how to clone Pliny the Elder and Westy 12, but that’s dreaming really big.

Although you could be right, I don’t hear him talking about craft beer at all. To me this sounds like a promotion more of homebrewing and using local ingredients. They’ve done that in their garden for years, so although beer is new, this isn’t the first time they’ve talked about organic/local/healthy food.

I didn’t read the PR as closely, so perhaps I’m mistaken. Did it talk about craft beer and why the President recommends craft beer vs macro beer? I would be surprised if they did such a thing, for political reasons.

You bring up an interesting concept though. Cheers!
