(Torrance, CA) – From grain to glass, Strand Brewing Company has been brewing beer their way, for seven years. Starting in 2009 with the help from friends and family, Rich Marcello and Joel Elliott set out to make a beer that they love and create a space in which they will gladly spend most of their time. In the time of seven years they have greatly surpassed their modest goals and wish to thank those friends and families who made this all possible.
On November 11th, 12th, and 13th Strand will host a three day Beer & BBQ festival to celebrate their seventh anniversary. To celebrate properly, Strand will be tapping several specialty beers over the course of the weekend. Long Beach’s twangiest high energy Bluegrass band, Big Bad Rooster will be the main event on Saturday at 5:30 and local Torrance pitmaster Dustin Bartz will be on hand with mouthwatering Bartz BBQ all three days. This event is free to attend and welcome to all ages.
The Details: Friday 4 to 9, Saturday 12 to 9, Sunday 12 to 8. Normal business hours. Free admission. Tons of parking in throughout the industrial court.
When Strand began, they were the only brewery in The South Bay and one of only three in all of Los Angeles County. At the time of this press release, conversely, there are over 60 breweries operating in Los Angeles County. This festival is a chance to honor the history of craft beer in Southern California and to celebrate its future at one of the few breweries that started the movement here in LA County.
This event also marks the one year anniversary of moving the brewery from is very humble beginnings on Telo Avenue to its current location at 2201 Dominguez Ave. Still residing in Torrance, CA, the move was a strategic upgrade in elbow room going from 1000 square feet to 36,000. With plenty of space to grow, the brewery intends to do just that, increasing output and expanding their portfolio.
Strand Brewing Company is owned and operated by lifelong friends Rich Marcello and Joel Elliott. Founded with the support and love from friends and family in 2009, Strand was one of the first craft breweries in the Los Angeles metro area. Strand is not only proud to represent the beginning of the craft beer movement in LA, but the future of it as well. The brewery is located on the southern coast of Los Angeles County, nestled amongst the sleepy beach communities collectively known as The South Bay.
