Issaquah Brewery’s Frosty Frog was designated Grand Champion at the 2008 United States Beer Tasting Championships in the Spice/Smoke beer category. Frosty Frog was also awarded the title of Pacific Northwest Champion in the Spice/Smoke beer category.
This is Issaquah Brewery’s third award from the U.S. Beer Tasting Championships. Previous Pacific Northwest Champions were Issaquah Brewery’s Bullfrog Ale in 2007 and its Farm Frog Saison in 2006. The 14th annual United States Beer Tasting Championship was held in December in Princeton, New Jersey. Over 400 beers from 141 breweries participated.

Rogue Spirits Spruce Gin was awarded a Double Gold medal by the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Rogue Spirits Dark Rum and Pink Gin both won Silver medals, and Wasabe Ginger Vodka won a Bronze medal.
The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the first comprehensive, international spirits judging ever held in the United States on an annual basis. Founded in 2000 by Anthony Dias Blue, the Wine and Spirits editor of Bon Appetit Magazine and Carol Seibert, the Managing Director of the San Francisco International Wine Competition.

Rogue gave birth to two new Ales in the award-winning XS Family: Imperial Younger’s Special Bitter and Imperial Porter.
Imperial YSB and Imperial Porter join Old Crustacean Barleywine, Imperial India Pale Ale, Russian Imperial Stout, and Imperial Red Ale in the XS line which has been awarded 59 medals for taste and packaging. All XS products will be available July 1st in 750ml ceramic swing top bottles and in draft.

Rogue Ales Brewery will host the 2nd Annual Brewer’s Memorial Ale Fest on May 16-17th in Newport, OR in honor of Brewer, our revered Chairman and resident black lab who passed away in May 2006. The largest dog-friendly beer festival in the world, this year’s event will include 50+ microbreweries, live music, local seafood, and dog-inspired entertainment. Proceeds from the event will benefit local animal charities like Oregon Coast Therapy Animals and the Central Coast Humane Society.
