Review – Rogue Dry Hopped St. Rogue Red Ale

| April 22, 2008 | Comments (2)

Rogue Dry Hopped St. Rogue Red Ale. 22 oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

Appearance:
Pours a dark red, 25% light gets through. A soap sudsy head that doesn’t retain.

Aroma:
Pine and hops. Almost no malt in the nose.

Taste:
Very close to a San Diego hop bomb IPA. A bit of bitterness, and the malt is found at the beginning but way overpowered by the hops.

Mouthfeel:
Refreshing, smooth, crisp but the hop bitterness gives it a kick after the sip.

Overall:
Great brew, and amber IPA with similar aromas of Stone 11th Anniversary Ale.

St Rogue Red is a fantastic beer…but I’m currently hooked on the Rogue Imperial Red and their seasonal Black Brutal.
