Review – Pyramid Snow Cap Ale

Submitted by Dan on January 10, 2009 – 1:10 pm No Comment

pyramid_snowcapFrom Pyramid Brewing - A rich, full-bodied winter warmer crafted in the British tradition of holiday beers. This deep mahogany colored brew balances complex fruit flavors with a refreshingly smooth texture, making Snow Cap a highly drinkable and desirable cold weather companion.

Pyramid Brewing Company – Pyramid Snow Cap Ale – 12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. 7.0% abv.

Appearance: Dr. Pepper red, with a small head and some swirls at the top.

Aroma: Christmas ribbon candy and bready yeast.

Taste: Strong bitter European malts, a bit of hop spice, Christmas ribbon candy and a bit of bubble gum.
Mouthfeel: Smooth and silky.

Overall: Really reminds me of a spicy doppelbock.  I was really suprised at how much I enjoyed this beer. I have never been that much of a Pyramid fan, with the exception of their Pyramid DPA.
