Review – Nodding Head – Gordo’s Oatmeal Stout

Submitted by Dan on May 16, 2009 – 3:23 pm No Comment

Nodding Head Brewing LogoFrom Nodding Head Brewing: Classic Oatmeal Stout (4.5%)… medium bodied and pleasantly roasty… hints of caramel and toffee in the finish.

Nodding Head Brewing – Gordo’s Oatmeal Stout – On draft at restaurant. 4.5% abv.

Appearance: Opaque black with a thick, half inch head.

Smell: Spicy notes of cinnamon and cardamon, along with the smell of oats that give the stout its name.

Taste: Sweeter than your average stout. Tastes of cinnamon and toffee create a smooth finish.

Mouthfeel: Lighter than you’d expect, it’s a very smooth-drinking for a dark beer.

Drinkability: A great introduction to the world of stouts for those not into darker beers, it’s almost too easy to finish.
