Review – Fort Collins Double Chocolate Stout

Submitted by Dan on April 25, 2009 – 9:13 am One Comment

Fort Collins Brewery Double Chocolate StoutFrom FCB – The most decadent creation ever to be created in FCB’s brewhouse. Deep roasty flavors, rich chocolate nose, coffee undertones and impeccable balance are the result of imperializing an already flawless brew.

Fort Collins Brewery – Fort Collins Double Chocolate Stout – 22 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. 8.1 % abv.

Appearance: Reddish dark brown, no head and no swirls to be found.
Aroma: Dark chocolate, lots of espresso and cappuccino notes.

Taste: Roasted coffee, dark chocolate, burnt malts and dark fruits.

Mouthfeel: Thin and silky, like an oatmeal stout.

Overall: A dangerously drinkable double stout.

  • I’ve had so far the Rogue and the Young’s Double Chocolate Stout – both very yummy! I don’t think I’ve seen this one in my neck of the woods, but I’ll be sure to put it on my list to try.
