Review – Ballast Point Dorado Double IPA

Submitted by Dan on March 14, 2008 – 1:13 pm No Comment

Due to the hop shortage, Ballast Point of San Diego, CA had to put this wonderful recipe on hold. Get this beer if you get it, because it may be a while until you can find it again. The Full Pint Dot Com’s Mike brought me a 22oz bomber right from the brewery itself. Dorado my friend, you will be missed.

Appearance: Golden yellow, unfiltered goodness. Foamy head, webby lace.

Aroma: Lemon and sugary, spicy malt.

Taste: Oranges, lemons, grapefruit, sweet, yet bitter hops.

Mouthfeel: Juicy, sticky, and fruity.

Overall: A great, aggressive Double IPA. An epic battle between the malts and hops, with many other flavors going on as well.
